View Documents in the Source Viewer

The source viewer shows you the original document behind a source so you can verify the information the AI Summary is based on.

Opening the Source Viewer

You can open the source viewer in two ways: click a superscript number in the AI Summary, or click any source listed in the source overview below the answer.

The source viewer appears as a sidebar on the right-hand side. Its heading reads Explore. Close it with the X button in the top-right corner or press the Escape key.

PDF Documents

For PDF documents, the source viewer displays the original PDF. It automatically jumps to the page and position that the source refers to. The relevant text passages are highlighted in color (orange background) so you can immediately see which section was cited. The current page number is shown in the bottom-right corner - scroll through the document to move between pages.

Web Pages

When the source is a web page, you will see a text version of the information extracted from that page. Respeak displays the content as it was extracted from the original website.

Audio and Video Files

For audio or video sources, the source viewer includes a built-in player. In the source overview, media sources show a timestamp (e.g. 2:35) indicating where in the recording the relevant information can be found. Click the timestamp to start the player at the right position. Below the player, the extracted text from the media source is displayed so you can read the content as well.

The Full Source Viewer

In addition to the sidebar in Search, there is also a full source viewer. You can access it through the knowledge management section of your expert. It offers additional features:

PDF View

The left panel shows all knowledge pieces from the document, listed in order - a knowledge piece is an individual section that Respeak extracted from your document. The right panel displays the original PDF with color-coded highlights.

Hover over a knowledge piece on the left to highlight the corresponding section in the PDF on the right, or click a knowledge piece to scroll directly to that position. A toggle lets you display all highlights in the PDF at once. Auto-scroll is enabled by default, so the PDF automatically scrolls to the relevant position.

Web Page View

The left panel shows the extracted knowledge pieces, while the right panel displays the original web page in an embedded frame.

Media View

For audio and video files, you see the built-in player alongside the extracted text segments.
