Recordings, Coverage & Script Export
Record play-throughs, measure coverage, and export a script.
A recording captures a play-through of your multichat. As you walk through the conversation as a participant would, Respeak notes which blocks you visit across every character. Recordings let you check how much of your multichat is reachable, and they power the Word script export.
You manage them in the Multichat tab under Record gameplay.
Recording a play-through
Start a recording
Choose New recording and give it a clear name, for example Path A â good ending. Each recording captures one route through the multichat.
Play through the multichat
Work through the conversation as a participant would, making the choices for the path you want to capture.
Record more paths
Create as many recordings as you need to cover different routes â branching answers, alternative endings, and so on.
Coverage
Open Coverage on a recording to see how thoroughly your multichat has been explored:
Overall coverage shows how many of the relevant blocks were visited out of the total.
Coverage per character breaks the same figure down for each connected dialog.
Unvisited blocks lists the blocks no recording has reached yet.
If a block does not belong on any realistic path, choose Mark as not relevant so it no longer counts against your coverage. When every relevant block has been reached, Respeak confirms that all relevant blocks were visited.
Continuing and repairing a recording
If you change the structure of a dialog after recording, some recorded events may no longer match. The recording is then flagged as Structure changed, and the coverage view tells you how many events became invalid while keeping the still-valid ones.
To bring it back up to date, use Continue to record onward from where you left off, or Repair recording to re-record the affected sections from the changed block.
The script export needs a complete, valid recording. If the structure has changed, create or repair a recording before exporting.
Exporting the script
With a complete recording in place, head to Export multichat script and choose Export script to download the full script as a Word document â all dialog paths, characters, and media in one overview. See What Is a Multichat for where this lives.
Recordings on the Flow graph
Recordings also appear on the Flow editor. Turn on Show recordings to see coverage drawn directly on the graph, and use Replay & record from here on a block to continue a recording from that exact point.
Once you have explored your paths, head to Analysis overview to dig into the responses your multichat collects.
